How To Links under this Page

There are "How To" tutorials to help you navigate the SWCPA website.  These tutorials provide instructions along with screen shots to make the following changes:

1-Changing your password.  Most often you will need to do this if you don't remember your password.  This becomes a key step in the membership renewal process because you must log on to renew.

2-Cancel out of an event.  If you register for an event and cannot attend, you need to cancel your registration.  This will enable the next person on the waitlist can be confirmed.  We do track habitual "no shows."  So please, cancel when you cannot play.

3-Update your skills rating.  The event emails are sent based on your self-rated skill level.  As your skills improve you want to be sure you are receiving the emails for the events appropriate to your level.

This page also provides a way to make a donation to SWCPA

SWCPA is a registered, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, we raise funds for major projects and operational expenses.  We have a Major Capital Campaign to raise funds to construct dedicated, public, outdoor pickleball courts in Durango.  While public outdoor courts abound in surrounding towns, Durango does not have a single outdoor court dedicated to the nation’s fastest growing sport.

The City of Durango, Department of Parks and Recreation has allocated $175,000 in their 2021 budget for the initial design work for eight dedicated, lighted pickleball courts at the new Durango Community Park at Three Springs.  In addition to the pickleball courts, this first phase of development will include a restroom facility and parking.  The construction phase of the park is scheduled to begin in 2022.

The design phase of the project is being fully funded with city funds, no grant or outside money is being sought.  However, construction of the pickleball courts and associated facilities, including a two-acre dog park, is projected to be $2.1 million, the Durango Parks and Recreation Department will pursue various funding sources including state and federal grants.  SWCPA, through our Capital Campaign, will be a partner in that effort.

You can donate 3 ways:

1.   Cash — Mail a check payable to SWCPA, PO BOX 4284, Durango, CO 81302.  Note on the memo "donation for new courts".  This is the preferred method as %100 of your donation goes directly to our cause.

2.   Online — Follow directions below.  Please note that a 2.9% processing fee is charged for credit card donations.

3.    Pledge — not payable until construction begins.  Download and print the Pledge Form and mail to SWCPA, PO BOX 4284, Durango, CO 81302

We will continue to accept pledges and donations until the courts have been constructed and play has begun.  Thank you everyone who has donated or pledged.  We hope to see you on dedicated pickleball courts in Durango soon.

SWCPA is a registered, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax deductible.  Once you make a donation online, you will receive a thank you letter via email for your records; if you mailed a donation we will mail you a thank you letter.  Your donation will be used to support the mission of SWCPA as we promote the sport of pickleball in LaPlata county.  We are grateful for your support!
