SWCPA Teaches Kids Pickleball At Chapman Hill!

Sixteen kids in the Durango Parks and Recreation summer program were introduced to pickleball on July 19 by members of the Southwest Colorado Pickleball Association (SWCPA) at Chapman Hill. Activities included discussing and practicing the basics of pickleball as well giving the kids a chance to play the game. Based on the smiles on the kids faces and high energy level, it's safe to say the kids had loads of fun.

Pickleball is a game that's easy for all ages to learn and play. Like all over the country, Durango has a growing number of dedicated pickleball players. Hopefully the kids that were introduced to game will continue to play and spread the word about how fun the game of pickleball is. The new pickleball courts planned for Three Springs will open up a great opportunity for everyone to play outdoors in a quality facility.

The SWCPA is always looking for opportunities to introduce both adults and kids to the game. Previously, the SWCPA introduced the game to kids at Montessori School and the Boys and Girls Club.  Thanks to volunteers Kim Royse, Max Paustian, Cindy Werland, Lisa Kennedy, Mike McGuire and Shonny Vanlandingham.
